I really enjoyed this essay. It reminded me of a juggler from the 1980s, a very talented guy named Michael Davis. He is famous for a bit known as "George Washington's Axe." As the bit goes (Davis, holding a hachett) says, "This is George Washington's original axe. I've replaced the handle and the head... but it occupies the same space."
